Fire Ant Control Reviews

Has your property been overrun by red fire ants? Fire Ant Control, LLC, reviews the available treatments and can help you find the best, most effective method.

Fire Ant Control ReviewsRed imported fire ants (Solenopsis invicta) are the worst of all fire ant species because they reproduce quickly, do extensive damage, and are more aggressive than other species.

Outside of calling licensed pest management professionals like Fire Ant Control, which offers the best fire ant killer around, there is no “best way” to kill fire ants. The key to controlling them is to identify them quickly and take action to minimize the damage they cause to humans, animals and property.

Temporary Fire Ant Control

Fire ant mounds can be treated with liquid insecticide products as well as chemical dusts and granules. These synthetic chemicals can be poured into or spread around the mounds and are often successful at killing some of the ants. However, they are only temporary solutions.

Fire ants are hard-working architects. They build nests outdoors in mounds of soil and live beneath them in an elaborate network of underground tunnels. The mounds are a bit like solar roof panels, helping the ants produce new eggs during cool times of the year.

However, when soil temperatures are warm enough, such as during the summer, the ants don’t need the mounds to help them reproduce. Their colonies continue to expand right under your feet, sight unseen, and thousands of fire ants live in just one fire ant colony.

Not only do these temporary products fail to eliminate the colony, the synthetic chemicals can be toxic to people, pets, livestock, and even food-producing agricultural properties.

Some people recommend pouring boiling water, vinegar, or bleach over the mound to get rid of the fire ants. Aside from boiling water, which can be somewhat effective (but harmful), these other methods will merely cause the colony to flee elsewhere, often to another place on your property or into your house.

According to the National Park Service, boiling water may temporarily kill as many as 60% of the ants, but is harmful for people and the environment. Hot water can burn the plants around the mounds, and the ants that manage to crawl out will sting anything in sight. Boiling water will not kill the queen.

Permanent Fire Ant Control

Fire Ant Control, LLC is a recognized specialist in controlling red fire ants on any size or type of land. We utilize a potent, food-like granular bait that contains an insect growth regulator which sterilizes the queen and is approved for use around people, pets, livestock, and on pastures, hay fields and farmland.

Worker ants eat the bait and carry it down into the colony, causing the fire ants to die naturally.  Extermination is not immediate but, once the queen is sterilized, the entire colony will disappear, and no new ants will be born.

We guarantee that our treatment will rid 85-95% of the fire ants from your residential, commercial or agricultural property for four months at a time, or your money back.

We hope our reviews about fire ant control methods have been helpful. The only successful method is to kill the ant colony from the inside out. Call Fire Ant Control today at (239) 312-8200 for a free estimate!
